The photographer commented on the accident in Monaco

We told you that there were no casualties in the collision between Sergio Perez and Kevin Magnussen on the first lap of the Monaco Grand Prix – the wreckage of the cars injured one of the photographers.

This photographer turned out to be Andrea Bruno Diodato, who told his version of what happened on Italian Sky.

“I am doing well, everyone has been able to avoid serious consequences, and this suggests that there are no problems with the safety of the Monaco circuit,” Diodato said. “I don’t even want to blame the Haas driver for anything, because I understand everything.

My work teaches you to hear certain situations before you see them. At that moment, the steady sound of the cars speeding by stopped for a moment and I realized something was about to happen. Then came a blow.

At that moment there were about ten people behind the fence, and only I was hit by a fragment of the Red Bull car. Everything turned out to be fine – those who could have suffered the most managed to take refuge on the ground.

I’m never scared during races. There are no security problems in Monaco. I know this route well, and after the impact there were no serious consequences, also because the fences, like the pillars, are very strong. The Monaco circuit may not have the most exciting races, but the safety standards are very high. In any case, we all understand that our work is risky.”
