Adrian Newey will finally say goodbye to Red Bull, his current employer of 18 years, early next year, but the question in the Formula 1 world is what will be the next step in the career of the famous racing car designer?

Will he accept Ferrari’s offer, as the Italian press has repeatedly hinted, or will he prefer to stay in his home country and move to one of the British teams? Or will he really go on holiday first and take a trip across the seas and oceans on his new 27-metre sailing yacht, in which millions of euros have been invested for good reason? Exactly pounds, because it is built by the British company Oyster Yachts.

According to Auto Bild, Newey plans to make a decision soon enough: next week they plan to analyze in detail all the available proposals together with Eddie Jordan, an old friend and his current manager, after which a decision will be made. .

As the German publication writes, Jordan and his wife Amanda Newey’s opinions will certainly be listened to. It was mainly thanks to the help of the founder and former manager of the Jordan team that he managed to terminate the contract with Red Bull early on very favorable terms.

According to rumors, Newey did not receive offers from only two teams: Haas and Audi. Obviously, this number should also include Red Bull and Visa RB. But the two options that look the most attractive are Ferrari and Mercedes.

In the first case, he is not happy that he will have to spend a lot of time in Italy at the Scuderia base in Maranello. At the same time, Auto Bild, citing its sources, assures that Mercedes’ offer is much more generous in financial terms, as Newey will in fact also be offered shares in the team and he can become co-owner.

But there is another disadvantage: he is afraid that Toto Wolff has too much power, and the atmosphere in the team is strongly influenced by all kinds of political considerations. This was enough for Newey at Red Bull Racing, where he worked under Christian Horner.

“Newey is not a politician, he just wants to work in peace,” recalls Ralf Schumacher, a former Formula 1 driver and now a Sky Deutschland expert. “If there is no harmony in the team, he will not have the desire to work together.”

However, the decision could also be influenced by an unexpected move from Max Verstappen, if the three-time world champion suddenly decides to switch to Mercedes, and then this becomes a very powerful argument in favor of this option.

Although we cannot ignore Williams, because Newey once worked successfully with this team and probably also offered him to become a shareholder there.

Other options seem much less likely, although all the pros and cons are known only to Adrian Newey and Eddie Jordan. Moreover, it cannot be ruled out that even if they make a choice, it is not at all the case that the press will immediately know about it.
