19-year-old American Jack Crawford, who competes in Formula 2, tested for Aston Martin in an AMR22 in Spielberg.
Thanks to the good weather in Styria, the program could be carried out without any problems. Jack did a lot of short and long laps and got comfortable with the AMR22 and the tires.
The test was the latest step in Jack’s young driver development program and he will continue to support the team through simulator work at the AMR Technology Center – as well as competing in Formula 2.
Jack Crawford: “Thank you to everyone at Aston Martin for your support during testing. My first day behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car was a great experience and I enjoyed every lap. For us the day went clean and smooth, we completed all the planned tasks without any problems.
It was important for me to gradually gain speed and adapt to the car. The feeling was not the same as before, especially on the high-speed sections, but I adapted well.”
