Norris: I think Ferrari would be the favourite

Before the start of the Canadian weekend, Lando Norris said he preferred not to make any predictions because with such a density of results, any of the six drivers competing for Red Bull Racing, Ferrari and McLaren could achieve success. However, he still estimates the Scuderia’s chances to be slightly higher.

Lando Norris: “Before, I didn’t even think we could be considered among the favorites in Canada, but lately we have been very competitive, so we can go into each stage of the season with a good dose of optimism.

If we manage to perform well again, if I do the job well, if the team fully utilizes the car’s potential, then there is a chance of success. It’s nice to have that in the back of our minds, but we’re not so determined that we’re going to fight for the win this weekend. We simply intend to complete the tasks before us to the best of our ability, and if this allows us to win in the end, then so be it.

I don’t know to what extent the Montreal circuit is suitable for our car. It’s just that Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren are now showing quite similar speeds, the difference between us is too small and all six cars of these three teams are driven by good drivers, so everyone can achieve success.

In general I will refrain from making predictions, especially since with such a density of results a difference of just a tenth in lap time can mean a difference of two or three positions. That’s why I have no idea who this circuit is better suited for: us, Ferrari or Red Bull.

But I still think Ferrari should be considered the favorite because on this track you have to attack the curbs all the time. But the rivalry will be intense, so I think we will have a very interesting weekend. However, this has been the case in recent weeks.

But I would probably suggest that Ferrari would be the favorite because their cars are capable of good speed on the straights. I know they still complain, but all they need to do is select a lower angle of attack for the rear wing. It seems to me that their car is more versatile and that this circuit suits that best, but we will discover that during training.”
