Haas confirms negotiations with Ocon

Following Nico Hulkenberg’s decision to join Audi, there is a vacancy at Haas for next season. Kevin Magnussen’s place is also in question, so Haas could potentially undergo a complete roster change in 2025.

Most likely, Ferrari protégé Oliver Berman will get one of the cars and several drivers will compete for second place behind the wheel. In Montreal, team manager Ayo Komatsu said Haas was considering Esteban Ocon.

Ayo Komatsu: “Esteban has a lot of experience, he has won races, been on the podium and earned a lot of points. He has played for several teams and has built up a wealth of experience that we so desperately need, but Esteban is only 27 years old and still very young. I also really like his commitment and work ethic.

I am in negotiations with a number of current Formula 1 drivers – both experienced and young. Esteban is definitely one of those I’m seriously considering.”

When asked when the team would announce its 2025 roster, Komatsu said: “We don’t have to wait that long. Let’s say, from a few weeks to a few months. The team is growing, the situation is very dynamic. I think the combination of experience and youth will be a great combination for us.”
