Oscar Piastri starts from the second row in Montreal – his McLaren is parked next to the car of Lando Norris, who posted the third fastest time in qualifying. The Australian also has quite a fighting spirit, just like his partner.
Oscar Piastri: “I am very confident and I think we are going to have a very interesting race. It has just rained recently, the track is not completely dry yet, but it is great that both McLaren cars are starting from good positions.
Overtaking is very possible on this track, so of course we will try to move forward. Judging from the results of qualifying, the grid looks a bit unusual, except that Lando and I start from our usual positions, but Mercedes is no longer that fast. In general, we will see how events will develop during the race, but first we need to understand what the weather will be like, which can become the most important factor.
At the start, as always, we will try to take advantage of all the opportunities that arise, but the race promises to be long, especially if the weather turns bad. We all remember the 2011 Canadian Grand Prix! Either way it will be interesting, we will see what we can achieve.”
