Red Bull and Honda have extended the power plant technical support contract for two years – until engine regulations change.
The current contract was due to expire at the end of the 2023 season, but the parties decided to extend it ahead of schedule.
Christian HornerTeam Principal: “Red Bull’s partnership with Honda has been incredibly successful and we are excited to continue it through 2025, when the current engine regulations expire.”
Koji Watanabe, President of Honda Racing Corporation: “Following Red Bull’s request to extend our current agreement, which can accommodate HRC within existing resources, we have agreed to continue to support Red Bull Power Trains. As before, we are committed to using our participation in Formula 1 to develop technology and train employees.”
All the while, Honda engines will be used on Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri cars under the Red Bull Powertrains brand.
