Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko said he is not worried about his rivals’ progress. According to the Austrian specialist, Red Bull Racing only plays into the hands of the reinforced McLaren, Mercedes and Ferrari taking points from each other.
Helmut Marko: “I believe we are on the right track and will soon make progress in the field of front suspension. The three upcoming races in Spain, Austria and England will give us a clearer idea of the capabilities of the different teams’ cars.
There is no doubt that our opponents have improved, but this does not worry us. We are preparing further updates to the machine, which look promising based on the available data.
McLaren was fast in Canada, as in several previous rounds. Mercedes performed strongly, but Ferrari turned out to be weaker. Such ups and downs are explained by the characteristics of a particular car on a particular track, and also by whether it was possible to bring the tires to the optimal operating range.
A big advantage for us is that our opponents are constantly changing. We don’t have one opponent, but three, who take points from each other. I hope it stays that way.”
