Aston Martin is preparing new products for the next three phases

After challenging weekends in Imola and Monaco in Canada, both Aston Martin drivers earned points: Fernando Alonso finished 6th and Lance Stroll 7th.

The team continues to upgrade the AMR24, although the busy schedule over the coming weeks will bring its own challenges with back-to-back rounds in Spain, Austria and the UK. Aston Martin F1 Chief Engineer Tom McCullough spoke about how work is being done to refine the chassis at this stage of the season.

“At the beginning of the season we always identify the parameters of the car that we want to improve, and this is what we pay the most attention to when we work on technical innovations,” Spanish newspaper Marca quotes Macullough. “We are trying to gradually increase the efficiency of the aerodynamic body kit and work with chassis components.

The aim is for riders to be able to drive the AMR24 with confidence and deliver consistent results across all tracks on the calendar.”

The team admits that the chassis’ weaknesses mainly manifest themselves in slow corners, and there are plenty of these on the track in Barcelona, and Alonso has already indicated that Aston Martin may again face difficulties on its home stage. But McCullough assured that work continues on new products that will help solve existing problems:

“We have already partially implemented the updates, but we are also preparing to make further improvements and expect them to help us at circuits such as Barcelona, Red Bull Ring and Silverstone. At the same time, we see that the teams are getting closer in terms of speed, so it is very important to fully utilize the car’s potential at every stage.”
