Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton has joined a new group of owners of the three-time Super Bowl winner NFL Denver Broncos.
Hamilton was invited to join the group by Walmart boss Rob Walton, who strikes a $4.65 billion deal to buy the club.
Today Rob Walton released a statement on behalf of the team owners of the Walton-Penner Family: “We are delighted to welcome seven-time Formula 1 champion Sir Lewis Hamilton to the team. Lewis is a true champion, he knows what it takes to win and has always actively fought against manifestations of inequality, including in his sport.
With over 100 wins, Lewis is considered the most successful Formula 1 driver of all time. His spirit and skill will make the Denver Broncos even stronger.”
Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
