Alpine has confirmed the squad for the 2023 season – Australian Oscar Piastri will partner Esteban Okon – he replaces Fernando Alonso who has moved to Aston Martin
Otmar Safnauer, team leader: “Oscar is a bright and rare talent. We are proud to have supported him on the thorny path of the youth series. Through our collaboration over the past four years, we have seen him develop and develop into a driver ready to take the step into Formula 1.
As our reserve driver, he got to know the team’s work on the track, base and testing, showing maturity, determination and speed and earning the opportunity to become our key driver, Esteban’s partner. We believe this pair of drivers will provide us with the continuity we need to achieve our long-term goal of fighting for wins and titles.”
In 2023 Okon will turn 26, Piastri 21, the team will be the youngest and most interesting of recent years.
