Oliver Berman returns to the wheel of Haas in Barcelona

Oliver Berman will return to the wheel of Haas during the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix. The British driver will start in the first free practice in place of Nico Hulkenberg. Niko gets to work in the second training.

In addition, the team has prepared new products for the Barcelona podium and expects that they will allow us to improve.

Ayo Komatsu, team manager: “The track in Spain will be the first where we will present new products designed to improve the car’s efficiency in fast corners. I can’t wait to see how the updates work on a real track.

Oliver Berman comes by again for the first training. This time he will replace Nico and continue the work he started at Imola.

A very intensely structured series of phases lies ahead. Fortunately, some of the team are based in Britain and the final round of this series will take place at Silverstone, so it will be a little easier, but still very difficult.

We’re approaching the point in the season where everyone is starting to feel tired, so it’s important to take care of yourself, stay focused and efficient, and perform at your best. This is especially important after the last two stages, where we did not perform well. We cannot allow this to happen again, so we must look at ourselves and understand what needs to be done to perform at our best.”

Nico Hulkenberg: “We have a stage ahead of us on the classic circuit, where we have been racing for many years. Barcelona has a fast circuit and I think the weather will be very warm at this time of year. Normally the Spanish Grand Prix opened the European part of the season.

The atmosphere in Barcelona and the Spanish lifestyle are very cool and I think we are going to have a fun race. I love the built stages – we’ve been doing them for years and June is usually a very busy month.”

Kevin Magnussen: “There is a stage ahead on a circuit that all the riders know very well. Perhaps I completed the most laps of my career in Barcelona. This is a good circuit with fast corners, but it is difficult to overtake here. After the last chicane was abolished, overtaking became a little easier.

I hope we will be competitive. A structured series of stages begins, but it’s great that this is the European part of the season. Everything around is familiar, short flights, no jet lag.”
