McLaren hopes to confirm the MCL38’s progress on the demanding Barcelona circuit…
Lando Norris: “It’s great to be back in Europe after a successful Canadian Grand Prix for us. We were close to victory, but I’m happy to be back on the podium and earn important points for the team. I know I can fight for victories behind the wheel of this car and I’m looking forward to the continuation of the season. We still have to work on winning regularly, but we are moving in the right direction.
Last week I visited our base to see the whole team and prepare for Barcelona. I love being in Spain, there is a great atmosphere, emotional support and a great Barcelona.
This circuit has its own problems: there are a lot of slow and fast corners, but I think we will be able to make the most of the car’s capabilities. On to victory!”
Oscar Piastri: “We had another strong weekend in Canada, I’m happy to continue the run of results achieved in Imola and Monaco. It’s nice to feel like you’re constantly fighting in the lead roles.
In Barcelona I achieved some decent performances in the junior series. Thanks to the hard work of the team, the car is in good condition. I can’t wait to land in Spain.”
Andrea Stella, team boss: “We are going to Barcelona for the Spanish Grand Prix, where the European part of the season starts with a series of three races in a row. The drivers and the entire team have a lot of work to do to maintain this momentum, but we are encouraged by our latest results.
We are confident that the MCL38 will perform well on a variety of track types, but the Spanish circuit still presents a unique challenge. More and more teams are bringing updates, it is important to stay focused and achieve success every weekend.”
