In the second practice session, the Williams drivers concluded the protocol…
Alex Albon (19th): “Historically we haven’t performed that well in Barcelona, but compared to last year we have made some good steps forward. The first training went well, in the second we made a few changes to eliminate the problems that arose in the morning, but they remained.
In the evening we will think about what can be done. It’s not nice to be 19th and 12th, but I hope the track cools down, the wind dies down and we can pick up the pace.”
Logan Sargent (20th): “Difficult day. This track has always been difficult for us and nothing has changed this weekend.
There were some positives, such as our long distance pace, which didn’t look as bad as last year, but with empty tanks the car lacked speed.
We have reason for optimism, but there is still some work to be done to increase the speed before tomorrow. First and foremost it’s about the performance of the tires over a short series of laps.”
