This was the case today, when the asphalt temperature approached 50°C, further increasing the load on the tires, which are already experiencing the highest side loads of the season.
To be honest, we haven’t seen anything special in the performance of the three dry weather formulations, although of course we haven’t had the opportunity to study today’s data in detail yet.
The speed difference is in line with the predictions: six to seven tenths between Hard and Medium per lap and just over a second between Medium and Soft. C3 tires can be used in the race to gain an advantage at the start and in the opening laps, as was the case last year.”
