Lewis Hamilton led the protocol for the second training session in Barcelona, and George Russell showed the eighth fastest time…
Lewis Hamilton (1st): “The first practice didn’t go well, but we learned a lot and the car behaved great in the second session. The tires struggled on hot asphalt, especially during long runs, but overall everything went well.
We have taken a step forward in the last races. Everyone has worked hard to achieve such success. We have a clear direction where we want to go and this affects our results on the track. Hopefully on Saturday we can continue today’s momentum and get closer to our opponents.”
George Russel (8th): “Good day. The car performed well on this track. It’s good to see Lewis on the top row, we were always in front.
In the first training we showed a good pace over a long distance, in the second we were even faster over a short series. Overall the car is in perfect order here.
It’s only Friday, but it’s been a long time since we’ve been consistently at the top of the scoresheet. I’m excited, we’ve been working towards this for a long time. But don’t get ahead of yourself. Today and tomorrow we will work hard to prepare as best as possible for qualifying and the race.”
