Max Verstappen: We managed to avoid problems

Max Verstappen recorded the fifth fastest time in the second training session of the Spanish Grand Prix. The current world champion is satisfied with the car’s performance, but admits that the RB20 can be made even better.

His Red Bull Racing teammate Sergio Perez posted the thirteenth fastest time and said the reason for the delay was the team’s experiments with the settings.

Max Verstappen (5th): “In the first and second practice sessions we tried different settings in an attempt to slightly adjust the car’s behavior. I think the day went very normally, because we were able to avoid serious problems. We have high expectations, but now we have to make the car even better, but even in this condition that is very normal.

We have new things this weekend, but they are nothing major: minimal impact on the car. So far everything feels good.”

Sergio Perez (13th) “The day started well, but before the second practice we changed a lot of the car, which led to a loss of speed. There is a lot to analyze and I hope we can put all the little pieces together tomorrow.

Qualifying will be very important, because overtaking is impossible on this circuit. To qualify for a high position in the race, you have to qualify well.”
