Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko is happy that Max Verstappen starts from the front row today…
Helmut Marko: “I’m happy. After the third practice we weren’t sure if we could get a front row seat. We lost to Lando in turn four, but we were faster in the first and third sectors, so overall it’s not bad.
It’s clear that McLaren has made incredible progress in recent races, their car is fast on all circuits and with all tire compounds. It is clear that nothing can be taken for granted anymore.
In the long laps on Friday the McLaren cars were very fast and can be considered favourites, but with the changes made we can expect to have less tire wear. If the track stays dry, we will have a race with two pit stops that have to be done on time.”
