Verstappen won the Spanish Grand Prix, Norris finished second after starting from pole

Pilot “Red Bull » Max Verstappen became the winner of the race of the 10th stage of the Formula 1 championship, the Spanish Grand Prix, which took place in Barcelona.

The three-time champion won his seventh victory of the season and the 61st of his career.

Lando Norris (McLaren), starting from pole position, finished second. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), seven times champion, closed the top three.

Initially, Verstappen overtook Norris in the first corner, then both were overtaken on the outside line by George Russell, who took the lead of the race. At the start of the third lap, Verstappen also overtook the Mercedes driver from the first corner in the fight for first position.

After the pit stops, Norris was second and closed the gap to Verstappen in the final laps, but ended up losing 2.2 seconds to him. The McLaren driver earned an extra point for the fastest lap in the race.

Hamilton reached the podium for the first time this season.

Verstappen, who now has 219 points, remains at the top of the individual standings. Norris comes in second place (150), ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc (148).

In the Manufacturers’ Championship, first place is occupied by Red Bull (330), second by Ferrari (270) and third by McLaren (237).

The next stage will take place in Austria from June 28 to 30.
