Williams did not perform successfully in Barcelona – on Saturday they completed the qualifying protocol and finished 18th and 20th in the race…
Alex Albon (18th): “We expected more this weekend. On the one hand, the car has made a huge step forward compared to last year and we made the right decisions throughout the race. On the other hand, this route always brings you back to reality.
The lack of downforce and the extra weight of the car, combined with strong winds and track temperatures, held us back. Given that the mid-tier teams are getting stronger, it’s clear we have something to work on. Austria and Silverstone should suit us much better.”
Logan Sargent (20th): “One of the most difficult races this year. The tires deteriorated so quickly that they had to be taken care of literally from the first lap in every segment.
A difficult weekend for the team. Last year we also had problems in Barcelona, but showed good results in Austria and Silverstone. We will try to make up for it in the remaining races of this three-stage series.”
