Qualification

After winning qualifying in Barcelona, ​​Lando Norris achieved the second pole position of his career after Sochi in 2021. This is McLaren’s first pole position at this track since Kimi Raikkonen in 2005 and the 10th in history.

After winning the Spanish Grand Prix, Max Verstappen took his seventh win of the season, the 61st of his career, and reached the podium for the 106th time, equaling Fernando Alonso and Alain Prost.

Lando Norris finished second and remained the only driver to earn points in all 2024 Grands Prix. Norris took second place in the individual competition for the first time.

For the fifth time in the last six races, Verstappen and Norris finished first and second (in no particular order). Hamilton has achieved a podium finish for eighteen consecutive seasons.

At 39 years and 168 days, Hamilton became the third oldest podium finisher of the 21st century, behind Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher.

His teammate Esteban Ocon finished the race in tenth – the second race weekend in a row for the Alpine team to score points with two cars.

Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso finished twelfth, failing to score points for the third time in the last four races.

For the second year in a row there were no retirements at the Spanish Grand Prix.
