Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz is optimistically preparing for the race weekend in Spielberg. On Thursday, during a meeting with reporters, he suggested the Scuderia would have a chance to challenge for pole and victory.
Carlos Sainz: “We only have one training session this weekend, so it was important to carry out the preparatory work at the base as efficiently as possible. We hope we have done everything right and will compete on the front row from the start of the weekend.
I wouldn’t be surprised if eight cars drive within two-tenths of a second this weekend. With such a density, even minimal progress will be enough to regain several places.
Everyone on base knows what to do and the team must act as accurately as possible. The Austrian circuit is probably better suited to our car than the Spanish one. But we must do everything we can to unlock our full potential. If we can do that, we can fight for pole and victory.”
