On Thursday, on the eve of the Austrian Grand Prix, Sauber driver Valtteri Bottas said he was negotiating a contract with three teams for 2025. One of them is his current one, and the Finn did not mention the other two, but according to rumors we are talking about Williams and Haas.
Valtteri Bottas: “I have the opportunity to sign a new contract. I think I still have more than two options, probably three. And Sauber is one of them.
We continue the negotiations, but more time is needed. There are options, and that is good, and I also have my own priorities.
I have the feeling that I am not done with Formula 1 yet. I can certainly spend many more years and give a lot to the sport and the team I will drive for. This is how I feel. I’m not ready to end my career.
In Formula 1 people have short memories, but they know what I am capable of and I have to believe that that will be taken into account. In sports, not everything depends only on results. Other elements are also taken into account: nationality, presence of sponsors and the like. That’s the nature of the game and it’s not always fair.”
