On the eve of the Austrian Grand Prix, the FIA spoke about changes at the circuit and confirmed the location of the three DRS zones.
Compared to last year, the limiter behind the curb in turn eight has been removed. At the exit of turns nine and ten, a gravel strip of 2.5 meters wide will be constructed on the left. The white line has been moved to the left to reduce the distance to the gravel strip to 1.5 meters.
The white line on the left in the first and third turns has been shifted to the left to reduce the distance to the yellow elongated curb.
In Turn 4 on the left, the white line is moved further to the left and in Turn 6 on the right, the white line is moved further to the right to reduce the distance between the line and the gravel area to 1.8 metres.
Three independent DRS zones remained in Spielberg. The first point for measuring the interval between cars is 160 meters before the first corner and the activation point is 102 meters after it.
The second measuring point is 40 meters before the third bend, the activation point is 100 meters after it.
The third measuring point is 120 meters before the tenth bend and the activation point is 106 meters after it.
