In qualifying for the Spielberg Sprint, Kevin Magnussen qualified for the second session and Nico Hulkenberg crashed in the first…
Kevin Magnussen (11th): “Good qualifying. I started when the track was in better condition, avoided the traffic – for the first time this year I managed to qualify cleanly and without problems. We have to continue in the same spirit.
The car’s behavior wasn’t ideal, on Medium tires it was competitive on the fast lap, but I can’t imagine what to expect in the long run. Let’s see how everything goes in the sprint and which tires we will race on.”
Nico Hulkenberg (17th): “There were few chances. Not the best session. I did my best to find rhythm and harmony with the car, but after the first lap I knew I was behind. Unfortunately there was not enough speed today.
If you start at the back and immediately end up in traffic, it will be difficult to make any progress. We need variable conditions, just like last year.”
