McLaren is happy with the outcome of qualifying for the sprint in Spielberg…
Andrea Stellateam leader: “We did our best. Qualifying was tough, but we are happy with the result. Max was faster, but we also have good chances in the sprint.”
Lando Norris (2nd): “Everything turned out well. I didn’t feel comfortable until the last lap, so I’m quite happy with the result.
I’ve been qualifying at about this position all year, there’s not much difference. Max drove a good lap and took first place, but I also have a good position at the start of tomorrow’s sprint.”
Oscar Piastri (3rd): “The position is not bad, but on the last fast lap, in a few corners, I could have gone faster.
“Last weekend was not easy for me, but I am happy that we are back on top here. The new front wing is working well, so I am looking forward to continuing. The gap to Max today was not big, so we are definitely in the fight.”
