RB didn’t score any points in the sprint, but hopes to do better in Sunday’s race…
Daniel Ricciardo (11th): “We knew it would be difficult to earn points in the sprint, but we have gained important experience for tomorrow. In the sprint I fought, the car reacted predictably, which is not bad.
It’s a shame if we miss a few milliseconds to reach the qualifying final, but it’s great that we’ve made some progress compared to Friday.
Now we have to find a chance to improve on Sunday. Today’s qualifying gave us a much more favourable starting position. The race will be longer, with pit stops and tyre strategy there is no reason to believe that we will not be able to fight for a top ten position tomorrow.”
Yuki Tsunoda (14th): “The sprint went well, but we knew we had to get more out of the car. We had the pace to reach the final qualifying this afternoon, but I couldn’t put it all together – and that’s my fault.
The team used the information we gathered in previous sessions to make the car more competitive. I hope we can finish in the top ten tomorrow.”
