Saturday’s sprint and qualifying for Sunday’s race were unsuccessful for Williams – they failed to finish above 16th place…
Alex Albon (16th): “Over the course of the weekend we made more changes to the car than normal and overall we succeeded, but I still had serious balance problems, especially in Turns 3 and 4.
In the second qualifying Lewis let me through but I got caught in the disturbed airflow and locked the tyres. I am happy that we managed to change the behaviour of the car for the better, but the balance has to be found.”
Logan Sgt (17th): “Unlucky day. The balance changed a lot from session to session – our car is very dependent on the conditions. Today the temperature has risen, and we always have problems with such weather.
I was happy with my qualifying lap, I felt like I got the most out of the car, but the end result was disappointing.
The positive thing is that we learned a lot in the sprint race and then adjusted the settings. I hope that will help tomorrow.”
