Piastri: The victory was close, so it’s a bit disappointing

Oscar Piastri finished second in Spielberg, repeating his best result of the season. After the race, Oscar admitted that he was a little upset that victory was close, but he did not submit to him.

Lando Norris battled with Max Verstappen for victory throughout the race, but on the 64th lap they collided. The Red Bull Racing driver received a 10-second time penalty and two penalty points, and Lando returned to the pits with a damaged car and withdrew from the race.

Oscar Piastri (2nd): “Of course we can say a lot of ‘ifs’ and ‘maybes’ now, especially given yesterday’s history. I know this is only my fourth podium in Formula 1, but it was close, so I’m a little disappointed.

But it’s great to get a lot of points. We had a very strong second half of the race and I’m happy to be back on the podium. But when you’re so close to winning and you can’t get it, it’s a bit disappointing.

I didn’t see what exactly happened between Lando and Max, but there was clearly a lot going on.

“I have a lot of great memories from last year at Silverstone and I hope we can fight at the front this time. I’ve always loved Silverstone and we’ve got a home race coming up so I’m looking forward to the future.”
