The Austrian stage proved to be the most successful for Haas F1 so far this season – the team achieved 12 points in one go…
Ayo KomatsuTeam Principal: “I am very happy for everyone in the team. Sometimes we are unlucky, but today we did a great job! Nico and Kevin had a good race, there were no problems at the pit stops – everything was great. I have no words, I am so happy for everyone, and the fact that Nico deservedly beat Perez is a huge achievement.”
Nico Hulkenberg (6th): “An incredibly interesting race, especially at the end when the situation escalated. In the last two laps we tried to keep Perez behind us, in the third corner I let him get ahead to use the DRS, which set me back.
I’m very happy that we earned points with two cars. Great performance. This shows that we are competitive on different types of tracks and can fight – great news.”
Kevin Magnussen (8th): “Weekend without any problems. Two qualifying sessions without traffic, two good pit stops in the race, an effective strategy – I couldn’t ask for anything more.
It will not be easy to repeat this result at Silverstone, the track is difficult there, but today’s success allowed us to return to seventh place in the Constructors’ Championship and I am very happy for the whole team.”
