David Coulthard commented on the collision between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris on the 64th lap of the Austrian Grand Prix. According to the former Formula 1 driver, Max will not apologize to his opponent.
David Coulthard: Hell would freeze over before he apologised. Max will simply say, “I fought the race and the fight was tough.”
This is the first time Lando has gone wheel-to-wheel with Verstappen over consecutive weekends. We know how it worked when Lewis Hamilton went wheel-to-wheel with Max in 2021. Max is one of the strongest racers out there, and to beat him you have to match him.
This incident cost them both the race, but they both could have prevented it. The stewards had more information at their disposal and they penalized Max based on that, but ultimately this had no influence on his final position.”
