Alpine F1’s technical department has been joined by three specialists who previously worked at Red Bull Racing and Ferrari, the official website of the championship reports.
Michael Broadhurst has worked with the Enstone team, then moved on to McLaren and Red Bull Racing, and will now head up the aerodynamics department. Vin Dhani also spent seven years at Red Bull and will become head of chassis performance at Alpine.
Italian specialist Jacopo Fantoni will take on the role of deputy chief engineer: his mandatory “academic leave” has ended, after having worked for 13 years at Maranello. In particular, he worked closely with David Sanchez, who has now become executive technical director of Alpine F1.
On 1 July, all three began working at the Enstone base. Broadhurst reports to David Wheater, Dhani reports to Keron Pilbeam and Fantoni to Joe Barnell. Sanchez is at the top of the entire hierarchical pyramid of the management structure of the team’s technical department.
