Andy Cowell will join Aston Martin as Chief Executive Officer on 1 October 2024. Martin Whitmarsh will leave the role at the end of 2024.

Cowell’s career began at Cosworth before moving to BMW Motorsport in 2000 and then Mercedes-Ilmor in 2004 as Chief Engineer. At Mercedes-Benz HPE he was Director of Engineering from 2008 to 2013, before becoming Managing Director of Mercedes AMG HPP during the successful V6 turbo hybrid era that saw the Mercedes F1 team win the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships between 2014 and 2020.
