Ahead of the British Grand Prix, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff recalled the Austrian stage and spoke about the tasks at Silverstone…
Toto Wolff: “Inspired by the win in Austria, we go to Silverstone. We took this opportunity and won the race. We were in a reasonable third place, not far behind the leading duo, and when they collided, we were ready.
The progress made is a credit to everyone at Brackley and Brixworth. It has brought us closer to the leaders and made us consistent podium contenders. We want to continue the positive trend and regularly challenge for wins. We believe we can achieve this. Last weekend’s result has given us a huge boost of optimism.
The Silverstone stage is practically home to our team, the circuit is close to the technical centres at Brackley and Brixworth, it is always great to see our staff on the stands.
I am sure the British fans will also come to support the team, Lewis and George; there is always a fantastic atmosphere at this Grand Prix. On the circuit, the battle for leadership will be intense. We have to be at our best to fight for the podium again – that is the goal!”
