Williams is preparing a special programme for its home race in Great Britain, and the main feature is that fans will see the team’s cars in a new livery. The centrepiece of the livery will be the Union Jack, which will feature the names of all 1,005 Williams Racing employees.
The team also announced that the catering service during the Silverstone race weekend will be led by Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge, and that his menu will of course be enjoyed by all Williams employees, partners and guests.
In addition, 2009 World Champion Jenson Button will drive demonstration races behind the wheel of the Williams FW22, the now historic car in which he competed in Formula 1 in his debut season in 2000.
And in the center of London, at the famous Piccadilly Circus, the Williams fan zone has already opened today, where a lot of interesting things will happen all weekend, including communicating with fans, the team’s drivers, participants in the youth program and James Vowles, the director.
James Vowles: “Silverstone is always one of the biggest weekends of the season and I am delighted that celebrating the people of Williams will be at the centre of our programme at our home Grand Prix.
To ensure we return to the leadership group, the team at all levels is undergoing a period of transformation, and our people and Williams culture will be key to our future successes.
It will require a huge effort from everyone at the Grove base and on track on race days, and I am particularly proud of the tenacity and resilience we have shown under pressure this year.
Alex Albon: “I am looking forward to returning to the UK for our home race, not only because of the upcoming engagement with British fans, but also because for me Silverstone represents the true essence of motorsport.
It was at this circuit that I first discovered my love for racing, and this Grand Prix is one of the best on the calendar, with Formula 1 fans from all over the world. The British Grand Prix is the perfect place to celebrate the enormous efforts of a team that races on different continents of the planet.”
Logan Sargent: “I have always loved competing at Silverstone. This fast circuit with its organic layout has everything that racing drivers love. I have many good memories there and in the previous stages of my career I have always shown good results there.
We will be racing cars with everyone’s Williams name on them, which is the perfect way to thank everyone for their hard work.”
