At the final round in Austria, McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri claimed victory in the sprint and the race. The team expects to battle for the top step of the podium at their home round at Silverstone this weekend.
Lando Norris: “I am looking forward to the British Grand Prix with great enthusiasm. I love Zilversteen. This is an interesting circuit, and also the home base for me and the team. The support of our fans makes the podium even more special.
“We know we have a fast car that can compete on any type of track, and that’s encouraging for the rest of the season. Last year’s podium at Silverstone was great, but winning a home race is a step up to the next level. Moving forward!”
Oscar Piastri: “The trophies received in Austria were a good motivation for the last race of the series. Silverstone is one of my favorite tracks. An important stage awaits us, because it is the home base for McLaren.
I am sure we will see many fans in papaya colours in the stands. I have good memories of last year’s event and I am confident that another exciting weekend awaits us. We hope to add more points to our account, that is the most important thing.”
Andrea StellaTeam Principal: “We are approaching the final phase of the series more motivated and resilient. Despite the difficulties, we have seen many positives. The home Grand Prix at Silverstone is special for the team, not only because of the great fans, but also because many of the staff will be in the stands with their friends and families.
“It’s nice to be back at the top, but we have to admit that every weekend will be a challenge because our rivals are very strong. However, when I look at our two drivers and team staff working at the circuit and in Woking, I know that the team is capable of delivering consistent results.”
