On the eve of the British Grand Prix, the FIA spoke about changes to the circuit and confirmed the location of two DRS zones.
Compared to last year, the curbs have been removed in the third bend on the right in the direction of travel. In the fourteenth bend, there is gravel on the left and in the fifteenth, the gravel strip is moved 6-8 meters closer to the track.
In the sixteenth bend on the right, the asphalt safety zone was reduced by 1.7 meters – gravel was poured on this spot. In the same bend, the curbs are replaced by grass. The asphalt strip in the area from bend 18 to bend 1 on the left is replaced by grass.
A new tire barrier has been installed on the right-hand side at turns 15 and 16.
Two independent DRS zones remain at Silverstone. The measuring point for the distance between cars before the first DRS zone is 25 metres before turn 3 with an activation point 30 metres after turn 5.
The second interval measuring point is located in turn 11 and the activation point is located in turn 14.
