Alex Albon knows Lando Norris and Max Verstappen well and has maintained friendly relations with them for years. The Williams driver believes that the relationship between Lando and Max will change over time as they continue to fight for victories.
Alex Albon: “They both want to win, so it’s going to be an emotional fight. And at the moment they’re fighting for the win between themselves. I think that will affect their relationship to some extent, especially when you take into account that McLaren will be claiming more and more wins. I think that will be the case not only this weekend, but for the rest of the season.
“If two drivers are constantly fighting for positions, especially for first place, the chance of a collision only increases.”
Commenting on the collision between Verstappen and Norris in Austria, Alex Albon saw no violation of the rules in that episode: “It was an aggressive fight, but the consequences have been greatly exaggerated in my opinion.
I have more questions about the first overtake attempt, where Max actually shifted while braking. In the episode where they collided, I don’t think he was on the brakes. I believe he was following a straight path that simply went left. It was a tough, but fair fight.”
