Bottas: No time for family, F1 takes too much time

The 2024 season is going downright badly for Valtteri Bottas, but he is not ending his Formula 1 career, and there are further rumours circulating in the paddock that if Carlos Sainz signs with Alpine, it will clear the way for the Finn driver to move to Williams.

Will events develop according to this scenario, or will everything turn out differently somehow, but Valtteri made it clear that for now he is too busy with his professional career, so he is not thinking about starting a family.

His relationship with Tiffany Cromwell, an Australian professional cyclist, became public in early 2020, shortly after Valtteri divorced Emilia Pikkarainen, who was once a member of the Finnish Olympic swimming team.

Bottas and Cromwell are constantly together, including his girlfriend, who constantly attends races and develops sketches, which are then used to create the design of his helmets, but they are also united by a passion for cycling. Of course, they spend their free time together in different countries and on different continents, often participating in cycling races, some of which they organize themselves.

But when Valtteri was asked if he had any plans to legitimize this relationship, he replied categorically: “As long as my Formula 1 career continues, I don’t see any possibility of starting a family. Racing takes up too much time – the longer I race in F1, the more I am convinced that this is unrealistic.”

Bottas was then asked to clarify whether he had any such plans at all, even in the distant future.

“I don’t want my answer to this question to make headlines. It will probably be better if I keep quiet,” Bottas responded, adding. – Our relationship with Tiffany can continue. Whether there is a wedding or not, whether there are children or not, we don’t have time for that now, we are completely focused on our careers. When the time comes, we will make a decision.

But we haven’t even planned a summer vacation yet: everything will depend on Tiffany’s schedule. For example, whether she decides to participate in the women’s Tour de France cycling race. If so, we will stay in Europe for the summer and spend time somewhere in Finland. We are lucky that we both have free schedules and that all decisions can be made at the last minute.”
