Toto Wolff: “There is no better way to say goodbye to the British Grand Prix for Lewis after twelve years at Mercedes. A great victory. This is our last British Grand Prix together, and today’s victory is like a fairytale. We leave the British public with the most legendary and most successful driver in Great Britain.
Lewis is a fantastic driver and if he gets the chance to win a Grand Prix he will be incredibly strong. The last few years have been very difficult for us and I am very happy that we are back in the fight and winning again. On a dry track we were first and second for a long time, now our car is one of the fastest.
George was also strong. It’s a shame he had to stop, otherwise we would have seen two of our riders on the podium and we disappointed him.”
