Nico Hulkenberg will step down from Haas at the end of the season and will be replaced by Oliver Berman. The team’s line-up could change completely as evidence grows that Kevin Magnussen will be replaced by Esteban Ocon, but Hulkenberg believes his team-mate deserves a contract until 2025.
Nico Hulkenberg: “Kevin definitely deserves a place in the team. Of course it is not up to me to decide, but Kevin has been very consistent this year.
As the season progressed, there were moments and sessions where subtle details led to differences in results between us. Normally, on TV it looks like there is a huge difference between us, but in reality, it is the little things that make the difference.
“I think he’s doing well. I have access to a lot more information, so I can see what specifically influences his results. I think Kevin could be a candidate not only for a place at Haas, but also for other teams.”
