Lance Stroll: New products haven’t worked in the last 12 months

After twelve races of the season, Aston Martin is fifth in the Constructors’ Championship with 68 points. For comparison, in 2023 the team had 196 points and a third place after twelve races.

Lance Stroll said the new products Aston Martin has installed on the car over the past 12 months have not led to the progress engineers had expected.

Lance Strol: “Early last year we were in the front runners. I don’t think we could win races, but we had a fast car that allowed us to get on the podium and finish in the top five.

But then we went in the wrong direction with modernizing the car. The team slowly and gradually began to understand this. Now we need to change the direction of development and become fast again, but this will take time.

“We have done a lot of aerodynamic testing over the last 12 months, but every new feature that has been installed on the car has not delivered the progress we had hoped for. We have learned a lot over the last year and are now trying to solve the problem and make the car faster.”
