Adrian Newey’s long-term partnership with Red Bull is set to end in the coming months. The famed race car designer claims to have not yet decided which team he will continue his career with, but TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson said he was aware of Newey’s plans.
Adrian Newey and Jeremy Clarkson went to Repton Public School in Derbyshire together and remain friends to this day. Last Sunday, Clarkson came to Silverstone and before the race, he told a journalist from TV channel Viaplay: “Do you want to hear exclusive information? I know Adrian Newey is looking for a house in Oxfordshire, not Maranello.”
Oxfordshire is home to the Williams, Alpine and Haas teams, while neighbouring Northamptonshire is home to Mercedes and Aston Martin. It is believed that Adrian Newey will have to choose between offers from Aston Martin and Ferrari, but if Clarkson is right, Newey has no plans to move to Italy.
