Audi announced the team’s fuel supplier

Audi, which will debut in Formula 1 in 2026 as a works team based on Sauber, has announced a contract with its first technical partner.

It was the British oil company BP that was given the status of official fuel supplier for the team. In addition, the Audi team will use a variety of lubricants, including engine oil, under the bp-owned Castrol brand.

Andreas SeidlCEO of Audi F1: “Audi and bp have always worked together successfully in motorsport. We are pleased to be able to take this partnership to the next level in Formula 1.

Audi’s slogan is “Technical Excellence”, and bp and Castrol use advanced technologies to make fuels and lubricants. We have a perfect alignment of objectives with them.

The fact that we were able to reach an agreement on such a collaboration at an early stage is a strong signal for the Audi works team in Formula 1. We see the attractiveness of the project and how many well-known companies want to work with Audi in Formula 1.”
