At the Monaco Grand Prix, Sergio Perez extended his contract with Red Bull Racing until the end of the 2024 season. By the time the contract between the Mexican driver and the team expires, Sergio will be 34 years old, but he has no plans to to end his career in Formula 1.
Sergio Perez: “I have a contract until the end of 2024, but I can’t imagine ending my career after it ends. I’m still too young and I like what I do, even though the sport takes a lot of time, but there’s nothing I can do about it. Formula 1 is life, you can’t just leave it in the past.
When it’s time to leave, though, it won’t be a problem for me. The best moments of my life still have nothing to do with racing. For example, the birth of children. Simple things mean a lot to me. Being able to buy a taco in Mexico City for 20 pesos and spend time with your family is an experience you can’t get in Formula 1.”
