Ferrari admitted miscalculation with SF-24 updates

Ferrari boss Frederic Vasseur admitted that the latest aerodynamic innovations prepared by the team’s engineers worsened the handling of the SF-24. At the Hungarian Grand Prix, the team will bring a new underbody, which should solve the problem.

Frederic Vasseur: “The one-week break before the Hungarian stage allowed us to carry out a detailed analysis of the data collected during the three previous races. We found that the latest updates did indeed deliver the expected benefits in terms of aerodynamics. However, the new products also had side effects that made the car more difficult to drive.

We have worked a lot on the base and will bring an updated bottom end to Budapest, which we believe will allow the racers to show their maximum capabilities behind the wheel of the car.

This season is all about thousandths of a second, so Charles and Carlos must be able to give everything and have the confidence in the car to achieve the best possible results in the race, but more importantly in qualifying, where they aim to push the boundaries.

I am confident that the new products we will bring to the Hungaroring circuit will allow us to be among the leaders.”
