The Alpine team has not yet decided who will partner Pierre Gasly next season. Pierre himself said at the FIA press conference in Hungary that he would like to see Carlos Sainz driving the second Alpine car.
Pierre Gasly: “I already said that Alpine has several good options who to invite to the team. In the end, it is not up to me to make the decision. I will be happy if my partner is the fastest option available. We all know who it is.
At this point we have no choice but to wait. But the team has three options.”
Pierre Gasly made it clear that he has already spoken to Carlos Sainz and told him about Alpine’s prospects: “I have done my bit and I believe in the project that we are building with Alpine. You know, I always support the team, but now that he himself [Сайнсу] a decision must be made.”
