Sergio Perez has refused to comment in recent days on rumours that he could be fired from Red Bull Racing after the Belgian Grand Prix. The Mexican Red Bull Racing driver recalled that he recently extended his contract and he has no doubts that he will remain Max Verstappen’s teammate in 2025.
Sergio Perez: “I can’t discuss the terms of my contract publicly. The next two races are important for me because I want to go into the holidays in a good mood and I want everyone on my side of the pits to be in a good mood.
I didn’t say anything else. I’m fully committed to achieving results. I’m here at Red Bull now and in a year I’ll be back. Nothing will change. I renewed my contract not so long ago, so this topic is no longer relevant to me or the team.
“What’s really important is that we focus on the track work and the basics, on the things that we can control. Everything else is external noise. It’s hard to disconnect from it, but that’s how it works.”
