Alex Albon elaborated on the thoughts of his colleagues: “I have nothing against the idea itself, but I don’t think this could be a karting race. I believe there are young guys who are much faster than us. Unless maybe they can’t get ahead of Fernando – in my opinion he is still actively involved in karting.
But I don’t think I should represent Thailand in karting. I think there are guys who are faster than me. But I like the idea itself. However, I agree that Formula 1 is not really an Olympic sport. Although, if everyone raced in cars like the Mazda MX-5, it might be a lot of fun! But maybe it’s too much fun!”
