After working with the new products during the first training session, Sauber was satisfied with their effectiveness…
Valtteri Bottas (11th): “We learned a lot today. It took a while for the new things to work, but that’s what training is for.
After adjusting the settings in the second session, we were able to achieve greater efficiency and find a direction for further development.
“Overall we are in better shape than before, but we have some work to do overnight and in Saturday’s practice to be well prepared for qualifying.”
Zhou Guanyu (20th): “Today the car behaved well, but don’t jump to conclusions: it’s only Friday. It’s important that you feel better on the first day than you did last weekend. This could allow us to challenge our opponents in qualifying and fight for a top ten finish on Sunday.
“In the morning everything went smoothly and in the afternoon I could have been in the top ten if it wasn’t for that moment in turn four. Overall we had some positive sessions. This track suits our car better. There is still room for improvement, but we are going in the right direction.”
